A sensibility for form, shape, abstract images. And this is really what made me love these very art films. I mean surrealist-films, abstract films and many other types. All kinds of avantgarde films. I was very taken by them. I always felt that if I have this sensibility \u2013 obvioulsly I\u2018m not unique \u2013 and I would think that there would be other people who would like to see these films, too.\u201c <\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2026eine Annahme, mit der <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Amos_Vogel\" target=\"_blank\">Amos Vogel<\/a> unbedingt recht behalten sollte, denn als er im Jahr 1947 mit <span style=\"font-style: normal;\">Cinema 16<\/span> den ersten New Yorker Avantgarde Film Club gr\u00fcndete, fand dieser rasch Interesse und brachte es bis 1963 \u2013 so lange betrieb Amos Vogel <span style=\"font-style: normal;\">Cinema 16<\/span> gemeinsam mit seiner Frau Marcia \u2013 auf stolze 7000 Mitglieder, mit regelm\u00e4\u00dfigen Filmvorf\u00fchrungen in einem Kino, das 1600 Pl\u00e4tze hatte. Und weil dies nicht reichte, fanden die meisten Veranstaltungen zweimal am selben Tag statt.<\/p>\n<p>Fast 40 Jahre nach dem Ende von Cinema 16, im Jahr 2004 zog Paul Cronin, ein britischer Dokumentar-Filmer los, um \u00fcber den damals 82j\u00e4hrigen Amos Vogel einen Interview-Film zu drehen und mehr muss man dazu eigentlich auch gar nicht sagen, das erz\u00e4hlt Amos Vogel hier alles schon selbst.
